It is everyone’s wish to be healthy during his or her lifetime. Is this possible? The answer depends on how you decide to live your life. A healthy living is closely related to the economic and social environment, the physical environment, the individual behaviors and characters. In the aspect of social and economic, it is related to one’s income level. Normally, higher education level links to better jobs and higher income which will result in less prone to stress compares to lower income group. The physical environment like clean water and air, safe shelters and communities will be the other reasons to determine the healthy living status of an individual. An individual behaviors and characters are believed to relate to one’s genetics system that develops during their family life style choices like types of diets, smoking and drinking habits as well as the relationship with family and friends.
Why is it important to strive for a healthy living? By taking steps toward healthy living, it can help to reduce our risk of health problems like hypertension, cancer, heart diseases, stroke, depression and other major diseases. With a healthy mind and body, you can do what you like at any time like enjoy happy family life, travelling around the world, go for expedition or outdoor activities and do what you passionate like flower arrangement, dancing, acting, baking and so on. These are the things you may long to do but not able to do as you need to work hard for comfort living, manage your children education and family related matters and many more.
In order to maintain best healthy living, we will need to cultivate good habits in our daily life from young. There are many things we can do in our daily life but one’s discipline and determination are the key factors to achieve and maintain good health through one’s lifetime. Here are some of the basic healthy practices. Eat healthy diets and essential supplements from natural sources (if you are not able to get balance diet most of the time), do not over eat (70-80% full is best), drink sufficient water (at least 1.5 liter a day), avoid bad habits like smoking and drinking, exercise regularly (at least four times a week and half an hour each time, brisk walking is better than running and hiking), always have sufficient rest, manage your stress level well, continuous to grow spiritually, learn new knowledge, laugh aloud often, minimize long exposure to sun, good social relationship with families and friends, help people in need and love yourself.
We only have this life and it is a blessing to live from day to day. Therefore, we shall cherish our life and do our best to maintain best healthy living at all time as we walk in our life journey.
